Hi,
I have attached the itinerary that includes the, newly added, Vergenoegd Wine Estate for our group Itinerary . There will be a cellar tour, wine tasting and duck parade. Duck parade you may say? They use ducks to control the snails that ruin the vines. Check it out here https://youtu.be/H6Ehoxu9QY8 . It’s included! The trip is $4975 per person, double occupancy and includes air from Washington DC.
I have had requests for extensions to make the trip longer so I have attached the itineraries in case you are interested. The pricing includes air.
Victoria Falls $1950 per person double occupancy, The Seychelles $3895 per person double occupancy, Madagascar $4895 per person double occupancy (this also includes air within Madagascar). I would need to check what availability is left for these options if you are interested.
FYI, the deposit for the trip without any extension is $1000 per person and is non-refundable (I am just the messenger). It is advisable to get travel insurance.
If you select one of the extensions there is a non-refundable deposit of 20% with the balance being due no later than June 4, 2018.
Because the deposits are non-refundable it is smart to also purchase travel insurance within 10 days of the deposit which will also cover you for pre-existing conditions.
This trip is limited to 22 people plus David and I.
Here are some questions we have been asked:
• Looks like a lot of meals are included. How much more should we expect to pay for food? It depends on where you eat but prices are very reasonable and, as of now, the exchange rate is a very favorable 13 rand to $1. It is actually better than when I went in 2015. It is like eating in the US you can eat very inexpensively or at a Michelin stared restaurant.
• What about tipping? Figure about $135 per person. We will calculate an exact amount and collect the cash at the beginning of the trip so you are able to just enjoy without thinking about it!
• Are there any additional costs (like insurance on a cruise)? Insurance is based on age. Please call for pricing.
• What is the weather like at that time of year? The seasons are opposite of ours so it will be spring. You can see average temperatures and precipitation here:
http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weather.php3?s=61886&cityname=Cape-Town-South-Africa
• Have you stayed at the hotels? They look so beautiful! I have not stayed in this hotel but I have toured it and it is lovely and the location is great!
Let us know if you have any other questions. We are being very selective as to who we are inviting on this trip and, and friends/relatives of the Newcomers, it is our sincerest hope that you will be able to join us.
